Book count

I've often come across other blogs where the authors keep a running tally of the books they've read that year. I've always liked this idea but never adopted it as a practice. I figured it was just too hard to try to remember all the books I read in a year in the middle of July.

Well, since it is a new year, I may as well start, right?

Right now I am reading The Well of Ascension, the second book in the Mistborn trilogy by Brandon Sanderson. This is also the author that is finishing the Wheel of Time books by the late Robert Jordan.

I have a lot of things I want to read this year that I didn't have time to last year, for whatever reason. I really want to read the Octavian Nothing books by M.T. Anderson, Leviathan by Scott Westerfeld, the Hunger Games and Catching Fire ( I know, I can't believe I haven't read them yet either.) and a bunch of other stuff that escapes me at the moment.

I hope you all enjoy lots of great fiction this year!

You'll like The Hunger Games - I haven't read Catching Fire yet. I really liked Zeitoun by David Eggers. Happy reading...

I also want to keep a list this year. We'll see if I can do it. But I know I am jealous of those who have them. The Suzanne Collins books you'll plow through. I also want to read Octavian Nothing and Leviathan! we'll have to compare notes. Also, The Magicians, which I heard about from you!

So how are you liking the Well of Ascension? I'm eager to read the completed Wheel of Time series.

Well of Ascension is good. It's a big book. Lots of political intrigue. I'm looking forward to reading the Wheel of Time books, too. But it still won't be complete for a while I believe, another two years I think. When Brandon Sanderson took it on he thought he would complete the series in one final volume. After looking at Jordan's notes, and beginning the end, as it were, he realized that there was a lot more to write to wrap up all the loose ends Jordan left.

Ugh, what a task. He blogged about it quite a bit on his website.
