The only reason to watch MTV

Tonight, during what is known as the VMAs on MTV, an otherwise dreadful and sordid experience, I will be waiting to see our first look at the Hunger Games film.

Looking forward to this!

Hey, just saw you in my YA group over at the Campaign and wanted to drop by and say hello, then I see your latest post is about the Hunger Games. How awesome are you? I love that whole series.

Looking forward to getting to know you and everyone else in the group. :-)

Hmm, perhaps I will tune is as well... :) Thanks for the heads up!

You know what is amusing? I heard that the series ended depressingly. So I have never read it. I can get depressed for free! Thanks for dropping by and saying HI, Roland

Very cool! Glad you got the news, Kimberly.

Hi Tabitha! Long time. I hope all is well with you.

Roland, you should really check it out. Great concept and really gripping writing. But I know everyone has their own tastes.

My daughters are looking forward to the pop deluge of VMA's..I saw the preview for Hunger Games and can't wait to see it!

Ronald L. Smith said...

Hey Michele, It was a quick snippet but still looked promising. Good casting for Katniss, I think.

Looks cool. I agree that Jennifer Lawrence was a great casting choice. Her performance in Winter's Bone was pretty amazing.

Ronald L. Smith said...

Winter's Bone was fantastic. Real-life creepy people. That's the scariest kind!

Michele Thornton said...

Quick Snippett?? I sat through Lil WAYNE to see 30 seconds of trees?? (yes, the casting looks spot-on. The trees played themselves nicely.)

Ronald L. Smith said...

Lol, Michele. It wasn't much, was it? I think they just wanted to tease the fans with something...anything.

A full-length trailer will be a big deal when it comes out.

Jennifer Hoffine said...

Wish I'd seen it, even just the trees...I feel like we've been waiting for this film forever, and we still have half a year to wait.

Ronald L. Smith said...

Jennifer, if you Google it I'm sure it's out there.

Hunger Games + MTV...

Thanks for popping in!

I haven't watched MTV in years, but I will have to check this out.

I have to say, I loved Bruno Mars and Adele. I'm also an unapologetic fan of Gaga. She follows in the footsteps of some other outrageous and creative and smart pop moguls like Madonna, Annie Lenox, etc.

Ronald L. Smith said...

Cindy, I'm sure if you Google it you'll find it. Not much of a teaser, but it's something for the rabid fan base.

Michele, you're right. There are some talented performers/artists. I guess I just get bored of their hype.

Adele is a great singer. I like her stuff. Amy Winehouse was brilliant. Such a true talent, alas....
creativity and madness/addiction sometimes go hand in hand.

Hey, Ron. Glad you are in the Campaign as well! We had to watch the repeat performance of the VMAs because we had no power the night they aired. LOVED Adele and Bruno Mars.

I hope the movie is as good as the book, which I enjoyed a lot :-)

Mina Burrows said...

I totally agree. This is probably one of my fav books too. New follower now. Thx.

Ronald L. Smith said...

Hey K.M. Good to be on the campaign trail with you!

Angela--I have my fears about the movie. I just hope they pull of the tome and spirit of the book. My fingers are crossed.

Hey Mina! Welcome! Thanks for following.

I'm with Angela. So many times movies don't live up to the books they're based on. The series is definitely one of my favorites, and I hope I'm not disappointed in the movie.

Ronald L. Smith said...

Hi Susan. I certainly am with you on that. The Golden Compass comes to mind.

Elana Johnson said...

I missed the VMAs, but I heard amazing things about The Hunger Games film. It's amazing what you can learn on twitter. Ha!

Ronald L. Smith said...

Hi Elana. Thanks for dropping by.

Indeed, Twitter offers a wealth of information...

and a lot of junk. LOL.

I'm still trying to figure out how to use it in an effective way.

I didn't watch the VMA's either, but I still saw the sneak peek.

I can't wait for the release of this movie.
